The first graders went on a field trip to the Queens Museum. First, we got to see the Panorama, a bird’s eye view of the five boroughs that was put together by a team of over 100 people for the World’s Fair. We learned about the five boroughs and what kinds of places and structures were in each borough. Then we broke up into five groups: Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Each group applied what they had learned from the Panorama to recreate each borough using building blocks and other materials. Take a look to see how we worked together to create each borough!
