Kindergarten Visits The American Museum of Natural History

The kindergarteners saw many animals at the museum, including mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians. We even saw dinosaur fossils!

We talked about why each animal belongs in a certain group, and the various characteristics of the animals. For example, we know that bears are mammals because they have fur and they are warm-blooded. We know lizards are reptiles because they have scales and are cold-blooded. We are very excited to continue learning about animals in the classroom over the next couple of months!
